Will completing your proofreading course make me a certified proofreader?

NO.

Students who pass the course Transcript Proofreading: Theory and Practice or General Proofreading: Theory and Practice will receive a Certificate of Completion.

The courses are NOT certification programs and will not make you a certified proofreader. In fact, there is currently no official proofreading certification in the United States.

Note for reporters and clients: Students have received specific instructions to not advertise themselves in this way. However, if you happen to see a program grad advertising themselves as a certified proofreader or that they’ve completed a proofreading certification, please contact me ASAP.

Feel free to request a copy of their certificate to ensure they’ve indeed passed the requirements.

    1. I am unsure about the availability of proofreading certifications in Canada, but I do know that there is currently no such thing as a certified proofreader for this specific type of proofreading.

  1. What is the cost of the course after the 7 day free trial?

    1. The programs start at $197 for the first two modules, then there are three options for the full program — see proofreadanywhere.com/proofreading-course-proofreading-transcripts-for-court-reporters for the current tuition rates.

Let me know if you have any questions 🙂

      1. Is it permissible for me to take, for instance, the Jumpstart modules and then wait to take the next module(s) until I have saved up enough to afford it, or must I take every section of the course immediately following the previous section?

        1. Hi Chantal,

You are free to sign up for the next part of the course whenever you are ready. Your progress will be saved at every step, and everything will be ready and waiting for you when you’re ready to continue.

  2. May I take the first two training modules and then take the rest of the course a month or two later? This would break up the cost for me.
    Tammy Phipps

  3. If I enroll in the full course how long do I have to complete the course?
How can I get a discount for this course?

    1. You have lifetime access in the full course. There are no discounts. We may offer one for our anniversary in late November, but that is a long time from now, and we usually don’t decide until last minute.
