Proofread Anywhere Launches Online Course in Proofreading Transcripts for Court Reporters

Blog-turned-business proofreadanywhere.com launched its brand new multimedia online course today, making it the world’s first online course to teach people how to earn money by proofreading transcripts for court reporters.

ORLANDO, FL; February 16, 2015 proofreadanywhere.com started as just a blog written by Caitlin Pyle, who had been earning $3000 or more a month from home proofreading for court reporters part-time since 2012. Now, in addition to proofreading for 20+ court reporters each month, Pyle will be teaching an online course to help others learn her craft.

“Court reporters are repeat clients,” she says. “There is little need to market oneself in a niche with lots of repeat business.” Soon after starting the blog, Pyle began offering an e-book and hands-on training for a fee. “I’d been doing this [proofreading transcripts] for a while, and had taught a handful of people to do it with great success,” says Pyle. “It was time to make it more accessible for more people, and the Internet has helped me do that.”

The e-book and training sold quickly to students across the nation and even abroad. Pyle says, “I became quickly overwhelmed. I had no idea it would become so popular so fast, and I needed a way to offer more and be more present for my students even if I’m not right there with them.” Students who completed the e-book and hands-on training are already finding success. Victoria Hubbard of Greenville, SC stated, “I intend to make this my full-time job eventually, and based on what I’m seeing right now, there’s no doubt in my mind that I’ll be able to bring home at least what I’m making now.”

The new online course, Transcript Proofreading: Theory and Practice, is a start-to-finish roadmap. Starting at the very basics, like defining transcripts and court reporters, students progress through the course to more advanced areas, such as practice transcripts and how to find clients. The course offers students a low-cost opportunity to start a new career. “If you do things the way I teach in the course, you can recoup the course investment in very little time,” Pyle says.
